Mission of ANS Working Group:

1. Provide thorough study, accurate analysis and insightful recommendations on the advanced technologies, procedures, policies and technologies needed to achieve the NextGen vision.
2. Specifically, the Mission of the ANS WG is to:

• Bring together member agencies, industry and other institute members for cooperation on the evolution of ANS in NextGen
• Develop detailed concepts of operations in the ICAO defined area of Air Navigation Services to further define the NextGen Concept
• Develop operational requirements for the NextGen ANS mission based on the concepts
• Identify the functional systems needed for NextGen implementation and identify performance requirements derived from the operational requirement and validation activities.
• Identify Policy, Research and Development, and  Key Decisions necessary for NextGen ANS realization.
• Provide operational and technical expertise to other working groups and to the NextGen evaluation activities, including costs and benefits.
• Integrate and harmonize the activities and products of the ANS WG with those of other working groups and divisions.
